Color and light create transit system wayfinding

During daylight hours or after dark, it’s difficult to miss the Brio Transit Stations that serve as the foundation of a bustling rapid transit system in El Paso, TX. Every station along the route is clad in vibrantly colored, exterior grade Lumicor Resin, allowing each stop to stand out brightly against the desert landscape. Once night falls, light diffuses through the translucent resin and the stations become glowing beacons for travelers.

To create an effective wayfinding system for users, the four branches of the Brio Transit System are uniquely color-coded. Being able to match the Resin panels to the existing system palette was essential in creating a consistent experience for riders and Lumicor was able to create the required custom hues.
